hey kids!!
london is nice, ok, not bad, can-do, alright. the weather's been really good. it's not all bad. late summer / early autumn now. temperature ranges 14-22 degrees celsius. blue skies, sunny afternoons and white clouds on good days. windy and overcast on not-so-great days. food's not bad. haven't had fish and chips yet. the markets are wonderful.
while english service may tend to be curt and hasty, most people are friendly when you start off being nice to them first. have made friends with the south american cleaners in my hall. they're bolivian and super nice! :D free refills for toilet paper and shower soap to come!!!!! (twin room ensuite bathrooms have to be cleaned by occupants. shared toilets for single room residents are cleaned daily M-F.)
london is crazy expensive. a sandwich in school costs £2-3.95 (~S$5-10) and a single one-way ticket -- if you don't use the oyster card, uk's version of sg's ez-link -- on the tube costs £4 regardless of distance traveled.
my room mate's finally here. her name is rimmel, 18, pakistani. her mother owns a beauty parlour. cool stuff.
school starts tomorrow. am scared.
