hooray!
donation tally + project tracking
"Oven-Roasted Steak (medium rare) $9.90
Juicy medium rare slices of beef roasted with thyme and olive oil, drizzled with pommery mustard and balsamic dressing"
cow: tastes like hamburger without bread.
"Grilled Ham & Cheese Melt $6.90
Melted cheese, with slices of ham and a sprinkle of green onions on home-made pressed focaccia or white bread."
i didn't get a choice of bread. did not taste like focaccia yet didn't look anything like white bread. i have no idea what kind of bread it is. no green onions! :(
that's not to say it was an unpleasant experience; i'm still a sucker for all-day breakfast. :D
two thumbs up anyway for the liberal cheese and thick slices of smoked ham. great with copious amounts of tabasco sauce -- if you don't mind the humongous stomachache the day after.
and for dessert...
"Butterscotch Peach Crumble $7.90
Golden crumble crust with bubbling homemade butterscotch sauce, filled with peaches, raisins and roasted almond slices. topped with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream."
order this while 3/4 through your meal. i believe they make everything near-scratch so it takes a while for this palm-sized dish to appear.
best part of dessert: soft, buttery crust. almost like cookie dough! how can i describe it? something akin to a half-baked butter cookie.
was a surprise to find all staff cheery and bubbly given the busy saturday evening period. so lovely!! don't forget to put a donation in the jar on your way out! food for thought, "good food for a good cause".
sorry, cow. next time we'll have the chocolate banana malteser. then i'll have the red velvet cake. seeya in june.
on another note: who's up for some ben ten cafe challenger!
